Sultan – Index – Start Up – Gold Bar Snohomish County

I’m including several different smaller towns along Highway two in this commercial property because each one of these smaller towns has about the same population. Located about 25 to 30 miles from Everett at the confluence of the Skykomish River and the Sultan River, these homes have a population anywhere from 1500 to about 6000 residents. The main Highway two runs east and west directly through all of these smaller cities. Sultan is the first you’ll come to just outside of Everett, then Start up, Gold Bar, and Index.

Highway 2 is the main highway up to Stevens Pass. Along this windy and beautiful Drive are several smaller communities such as How for it, Baring, May Creek, Miller River, Grotto, and Skykomish. Each offers a little bit something different but you’ll find some of the best burgers along this route, great coffee shops and espresso, unique little grocery stores, and shops that can prepare you for the ski season. This is our northern route across the state, so the right business can flourish along Highway 2.

Sultan

Sultan has some great little shops along the way such as Vicks Burger Shack, Bubba’s Road House, The Sultan Bakery, and Loggers In. It also has one of the biggest Ace Hardware stores in the county.

Gold Bar

Gold Bar is just a little further East with Start Up located in the middle, home to less than 1000 residents. Let’s Go Espresso is a popular stop offer those going East or West just about anytime of the day.

Index

Index is at the base of the Cascade Mountain Range and starts many adventures over the mountain. It’s often one of the last “major” stops before the pass. It’s a great place to gas up, get a final bite or a good stop on your way back from skiing for the day and The River House is a great place to do that.
