Monroe Washington is located about 45 minutes from downtown Seattle in Snohomish County at the confluence of the Skykomish, Snohomish, and Snoqualmie River is in the Cascade foothills. It’s home to about 19,000 residents and continues to grow every year. Monroe saw a ton of growth in the 21st century from 2000 to 2010 as many large strip malls and major retailers have built new complexes along Highway two, the main thoroughfare through Monroe Washington. Because of this, the residential areas have greatly expanded. The old part of Monroe sits on Main Street away from the busy highway and has preserved much of its small town character. You’re likely to see trains passing through their town or skiers heading up to the mountain passes.
