Smokey Point, while technically a combination of Arlington and Marysville, has become its own city practically. This area has exploded in growth over the last 10 years. It used to be just a small little stop off to go to the Gissberg Twin Lakes for a cool swim, but today, Smokey Point is the hub for Costco, Target, Lowes, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and dozens of restaurants, markets, shops, and much more. And it hasn’t stopped there. The Lodge Apartments has exploded in growth as well in the Lakewood school district, located just up the street, is touted as one of the best in the area.

And, this is where the commercial real estate area is booming. Right around the intersection of Highway 531 and Interstate 5 is some of the fastest growing commercial property in Snohomish County. On the north side of Highway 531 you have Party City, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Tuesday Mornings, and Ultra Beauty Supply. On the south to the west of the freeway, you have Costco, Best Buy, Mor Furniture, Red Robin, Office Depot, Marshalls, Target, and many smaller communities, restaurants, ice cream shops, Belt Sushi, and more. There are dozens of individual spots for businesses both large and small so if you’re looking to move your business or start a business in one of the most popular commercial neighborhoods in Snohomish County, Smokey Point might be an ideal location.

The only drawback is the price, of course. Because of the expansive options of commercial real estate and businesses, rental prices and leases tend to be higher than those in downtown Arlington, or Marysville. On the east side of the freeway, the larger lots between the freeway and Smokey Point Boulevard are continually being built out as well and are becoming Smokey Points auto row. With Honda, Toyota, and several other car dealerships, Smokey Point Boulevard can also be an ideal place for business. Whether it’s an espresso stand along the boulevard or a restaurant or business on the west side of the freeway, there are always business opportunities and options in Smokey Point.

The Highway 531, which runs east and west to Stanwood and to Arlington and Highway nine has become an extremely popular route. This is perfect for espresso stands or fast food locations, there’s a Starbucks along this road as well as a Safe way, banks, shops, restaurants, and much more. It really doesn’t matter which quadrant of Smokey Point you choose, there will be plenty of traffic.
