Located in Snohomish County, Marysville is just north of Everett and home to about 65,000 residents. In 2015 it was the fastest growing city in the state with an annual growth rate of 2.5%.
Originally established back in 1872 as a trading post, the town was incorporated in 1891 and has grown ever since. It had its first wave of suburbanization in the 1970s and 80s with more housing and commercial areas and up until 2000, the population of Marysville increased fivefold.
Marysville borders the Tulalip Indian reservation and the reservation is totally different than in city. On the reservation, homes and businesses lease the land, typically upwards of 99 years, but those can give out eventually so choosing a business or a home on reservation land is something to really consider and you’ll want to weigh all the costs and pros and cons.

Demolition has already started along first Street where the city plans to expand the two-lane road into a bypass of up to five lanes. This would handle traffic from the new I-5 interchange of Highway 529. First Street will be widened from State to 47th Ave. This $12 million financing project will be started in 2019 and hopefully completed by 2022.
