Port Gardner, also known as Port Gardner Bay is an inlet of Possession Sound off the coast of Everett Washington. It’s a small neighborhood known for the Snohomish River that flows into the north end of the bay and was named by George Vancouver for his patron and former commander Alan Gardner.
This is been noted as one of the top 10 best neighborhoods to live in Everett and has excellent schools, low crime, diversity, and lots of things to do and see. It’s home to roughly 8000 residents and is a suburban mix with most residents actually renting their homes, however, there is several single-family homes, duplexes and historical homes in Port Gardner. The median home value is about $265,000 with the median rent of $977, so it’s a fairly affordable place to call home.
Port Gardner is a large section of Everett located just south of downtown between Hewitt Avenue to the north, 41st St. to the south, Port Gardner Bay to the west, and the Snohomish River to the east, also technically bordered by Interstate 5. The area encompasses the Providence Regional Medical Center and hospital, and the Everett clinic primary care facility as well as multiple shops, restaurants, fun Cofield, the children’s Museum of Everett, and several local restaurants, boutiques, and retail outlets. Homes are spread out and dispersed throughout the neighborhoods so you’ll find a home next to a business and so forth.
